The max on the thermograph read 67ƒF, whereas the mercurial
Max read a high of 73ƒF. This occurrence is common due to
simple reasons. The mercurial max is reset daily at 4 &
5pm (daylight savings and pacific standard times
respectively). Often, the max for the following 12 hour day
is lower than the observation temperature from the day
before. The result is a max representing the observation
time temperature from the previous day. The thermograph, of
course, will show a max indicative of the 12 hour day since
it is on a continuous cycle of measurement. The official max
recorded will be from 24-hour
intervals from the time of observation, therefore, October
26, 1955 recorded 73ƒ, rather than the thermograph’s 67ƒF.

used a Mac Powerbook laptop. Originally their was no real
objective, and a website was not in mind. I merely wanted to
compile the monthly averages only, and only the monthly ppt
records on Excel spreadsheets for personal use. One thing
led to another, and ....
Several months later it was apparent I had too much info
entered to keep to myself!! That's when I decided to display
information on the Internet, and began converting the
spreadsheets to HTML for this website!
